The HandiFoam P12620 Open Cell (HFO) II-40 is a portable, disposable low-pressure spray polyurethane foam kit designed for smaller insulation, patch-and-repair, sound-deadening, and void-filling applications. Its low-density open-cell formulation expands to fill cavities and irregular spaces while helping reduce noise transmission in walls and other building assemblies. HandiFoam specifically positions the Open Cell line for large voids and surfaces, sound reduction, and touch-up work where low-density foam has previously been installed.
The II-40 size provides up to 40 board feet of theoretical coverage and uses HandiFoam’s HFO formulation, developed with a lower-global-warming-impact blowing agent. The foam has greater than 90% open-cell content, an aged R-value of 4.4 per inch, and is tack-free in about 75 seconds, making it practical for professional repair and detail work where a full-size foam system would be excessive.
The foam is tested to ASTM E84 Class B at 4-inch thickness, with a Flame Spread Index of 65 and Smoke Developed Index of 450. HandiFoam’s current technical sheet also specifies professional use only and provides detailed substrate, temperature, PPE, ventilation, and storage requirements.
