Choosing the Right LED Wall Pack Lighting

Choosing the right LED Wall Pack is one of the first steps you can take with saving energy. With decreasing prices, the low-energy consumption compared with metal halide, very long lives of 50,000 hours and the rebates available make switching to LED Wall Pack Lighting a no-brainer.

Lumens

With new light bulbs, shopping by lumens is more important than shopping by watts when choosing which energy-efficient bulb to purchase. While wattage measures the amount of energy required to light products, lumens measure the amount of light produced. This means that the more lumens the product has, the brighter the light source is. Instead of buying products based on how much energy they consume (watts), consumers should consider how much light they give us (lumens).

Motion Sensor

Lights with the motion sensor feature are sensitive to motion. Instead of wasting energy by leaving the lights on, this feature helps save energy by only being illuminated when it is necessary (when someone is in the room). As a plus, motion detector lighting is factory installed so it does not require any additional installation or integration with the fixture.

Photo Cell

LED Wall Pack Lighting with photo cell control turn on when the surrounding environment is dark and turn off when it becomes bright again. The photocells in the lights tell the circuit when to provide more or less current, thus turning the light on or off as needed. As more or less light hits the photo-sensitive plates of the photocells, the resistance value changes, which changes the brightness of the light. This feature is also factory installed so it does not require any additional installation or integration.

Wet Rated

A wet location is an interior or exterior location in which water or other liquids may drip, splash or flow on or against the electrical components of a lighting fixture. Therefore, a fixture with a UL Wet Rating is suitable for locations that receive direct contact with rain, snow or other moisture (such as fog or ocean spray).

DLC Listed

When a fixture is DLC Listed (stands for Design Light Consortium) it may qualify for energy rebates by your local utility which can significantly reduce the cost of ownership. The qualified products list is a resource for program administrators, to help them decide which solid state lighting products to include in their energy efficiency promotions.
