Description
The Conserve Smart Water Flow GPM Measuring Bag makes it easy to measure the gallons-per-minute (GPM) flow from your showerheads, kitchen faucets, and bathroom faucets. By knowing the flow rate of your current fixtures, you can see how much water—and money—you could save by upgrading to high-efficiency models. To use, simply place the bag under the showerhead or faucet, turn on the water for 5 seconds, and read the markings to determine the GPM.
Older “low-flow” showerheads often limited water use to around 2.5 GPM, but modern high-performance models use just 1.8 GPM or less while still providing a strong, comfortable spray. Kitchen faucet aerators can typically operate efficiently at 1.0 to 1.5 GPM, with additional savings possible if the aerator includes a shut-off valve for quick water stops. Bathroom faucets generally need even less water—today’s water-saving aerators can deliver just 0.5 to 1.0 GPM, which is ideal for handwashing, toothbrushing, and shaving without wasting water.
