The BRK First Alert SM6W10 is a hardwired smoke alarm designed for residential fire protection with long-term backup power built in. It uses photoelectric smoke-sensing technology, operates on 120V AC, and includes a sealed 10-year lithium battery backup to help maintain protection during power interruptions. The spec sheet also lists a 10-year service life and an 85 dB horn at 10 feet.
This model is built for connected home alarm systems. It can interconnect with up to 18 alarms, including up to 12 smoke alarms, so compatible alarms can sound together when one detects smoke.
