The BRK First Alert SC601 is a battery-powered 2-in-1 smoke and carbon monoxide alarm designed to help protect residential spaces from both fire and CO hazards in one compact device. It uses a photoelectric smoke sensor and an electrochemical carbon monoxide sensor, giving homeowners dependable dual-hazard protection without requiring hardwired installation. The spec sheet lists the alarm with a 10-year service life, replaceable AA batteries, and an 85 dB horn at 10 feet.
This model is designed for easier maintenance with LED alarm indicators, low-battery and end-of-life warnings, a side-load battery drawer, and SoftCue™ replacement reminders to help reduce disruptive chirping. It also includes a test/silence button, latching alarm memory, self-diagnostic malfunction warning, and tamper-resistant locking features for the battery drawer and mounting bracket.
