Description

Most clothes dryers require a minimum airflow of 100 cfm (cubic feet per minute) to dry clothes efficiently. When dryers are located in locations where long duct runs are necessary it becomes harder for the dryer to maintain the needed airflow. If the moist air isn't adequately exhausted the dryer most run longer to dry the clothes, which results in increased energy usage and costs. Adding a boost exhaust fan can address this problem. Boosting is recommended when the duct length exceeds 20 feet with one elbow, 15 feet with two elbows, or 10 feet with three elbows.

Fantech's Residential Dryer Boost Fan Kit includes an inline fan that will facilitate adequate exhaust from the clothes dryer - shortening drying times and reducing energy usage. This unique fan has backward blades to allow the lint to pass through. The kit also includes a fully automatic pressure switch. The pressure switch is designed to attach inline along the duct run and will activate the fan when the dryer comes on. It is preset to cycle in ten minute cycles until the dryer stops. This boost kit is suitable for exhaust runs up to 60 feet long with a maximum of six elbows. The fan features a UL recognized, UV protected, thermoplastic resin housing. It is caulked at the motor screws, the wiring cables, and along the seams of the fan.

The fan features a totally enclosed motor, permitting use in areas of high moisture and in lint/dust laden environments. It is pre-wired and equipped with a mounting bracket to permit easy installation. This fan comes with a 5 year factory warranty. Note that this kit is not appropriate for applications in which the fan will be located within 15 feet of the dryer.
