| These desk lamps are basically the same as the original Verilux HappyEyes desk lamp, with two key improvements. They have a low and high light level switch and an aluminized parabolic grid diffuser to better direct light down onto your desk or work surface. The light fixtures use a 27 watt linear compact fluorescent bulb that is as bright as a 100 watt incandescent bulb.
Because the color temperature of the lamp used in these fixtures is 6,000 degrees Kelvin, they fixture will provide a much whiter light than that offered by incandescent bulbs and many other compact fluorescents. A whiter light may be able to increase contrast and clarity on reading materials, which may, in turn, reduce eyestrain. The ballast used in the lamps is electronic, so there will be none of the flickering that is common with many magnetically ballasted lamps. The orientation of the head can be adjusted by repositioning the gooseneck arm. Two colors are available, ivory and graphite.
