“Let the wireless electricity monitor give you real-time access to how much electricity your home is using”
Highlights
- Wireless device that calculates your home's electricity usage, and displays the info in easy-to-understand formats: dollars and cents, kilowatt-hours
- Specifies how much electricity your home is using moment-to-moment and in total
- Tracks the maximum usage levels within a 24-hour and “since last reset” time period and compares the current usage level to those peaks
- Shows what you are spending in real-time, so you can estimate your next bill amount
- Real-time feedback proven to reduce electricity usage by as much as 5% to 20%
- Easy to install meter sensor requires no wiring and works with almost all electricity meters
- Performance and effectiveness noted on ABC, CNN Online, and FOX News
How It Works
The PowerCost Monitor's two components, the sensor and Power Monitor, were designed to be easily installed and used:
- Sensor Unit simply attaches to the outside of your electric utility meter; once it is fastened, it reads the amount of electricity you consume in real-time and transmits the info to the Power Monitor (wireless display unit). Please note the sensor:
- Simply wraps around the glass meter, and reads the meter as it spins and sends the information inside to the Power Monitor
- Does not affect the meter, or a meter reader's ability to read the meter
- Works with most North American electromechanical and solid state/digital electric meters for which the optical sensor or rotating disk is not blocked, including smart meter technologies
- Power Monitor resembles a small digital clock and with a range of up to 100 ft from the sensor unit, you can place it anywhere in the home; just program the utility company's electric rate (cost per kilowatt-hour or kWh) for the Power Monitor to tell you (for the household):
- Current Consumption: in (1) dollar & cents ($/hr), (2) kilowatts (kW), and (3) graphically (fast or slow spinning disk)
- Consumption Totals: cumulative total of electricity consumed (1) since total was last reset in $/hr (Dollar & Cents Mode) (refreshed every 10 seconds), and (2) kHw (Kilowatt Mode)
- Status: (1) signal quality; (2) battery levels; (3) consumption history (highest amount of energy consumed) in 24 hours, and since total was last reset; (4) how the current level of energy consumption compares to both 24-hour, and maximum peaks; (5) time; and (6) temperature
NOTE: The PowerCost Monitor™ is not a utility meter and is not intended for billing purposes. Data displayed is for informational purposes only. Due to when your meter is read by your utility and due to other utility charges, the “total” readings on your display will not exactly match what you see on your electricity bill. It is accurate within 5% of the actual amount.
