If you want to preserve the character of old wooden doors or windows, but also reduce drafts, this weatherstrip (also known as "spring bronze") may be what you're looking for. This durable weatherstrip is made of a strip of .007 gauge bronze that gets nailed in place around the edge of the window or door, scored, and then folded in half to deliver long lasting performance. In one package is a 17 foot by 1 1/8" (unfolded) roll of the metal weatherstrip, suitable for one average-sized door or two average-sized windows. Note that because this weatherstrip is installed with nails (spaced every two inches) rather than the self-adhesive tape found on typical "V" strip weatherstrip, and because it is metal, rather than plastic, it can be very time-consuming to install. A package of 1/2" nails is included.
