Sorry to hear you’ve had a negative experience in terms of the pricing of these bulbs. We have a large selection of GU24 CFLs, some priced as low as $3.40. Hopefully the cost you paid last time hasn’t completely ruined your perception of these lights.

Richard, we unfortunately do not have a list of stores selling these converters. We can say there are a number of retailers, primarily online, who sell them. We suggest doing a quick online search for them and a list of stores selling converters as well as the prices they are listed for will come up.

You said that you only carry single wattage mogul base cfl bulbs. But do you know of a source for a 3 way mogul to d=reduce to a 3 way standard?

I just had two GU24 CFL bulbs replaced. Each bulb (13 watt)is $7.00. At that price I would rather have a regular screw-in CFL bulb. I considered replacing the bulb socket to a regular screw-in, but I thought I’ll just do it next time since the whole fixture is attached to the outside wall, on a stucco, and is caulked on the sides. In order to replace the socket, you have to have enough wire slack and since you can’t pull the wire to have a slack, you need to take whole fixture from the wall. I am also thinking about putting an adapter to the socket so I can use the regular screw-in type. I think the price of these GU24 CFL Bulbs don’t justify their advantages.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any 3-way mogul base bulbs. The mogul base CFLs that we carry are all of the single-wattage variety.

Do you have a source for a CLF replacement for a 3-way 100/200/300 mogul base lamp? I have several antique lamps that take these old monster bulbs and I would love to update them, but do not want to give up 3-way capability.

Great article. Very pleased to see alternative methods of treatment being implemented. Our own bio process is quite extraordinary in that we use no harmful chemicals or pumping, a simple blower and an activated sludge process rids the water of the contaminants good enough for release to the environment here in Ireland. Good luck with your endeavours!
